Different kids respond in different ways when parents try to talk to them about issues like not smoking. Some are defensive. Others try to put it off. Still others act like they already know all they need to know.
Here are some common responses that preteens and teens have when you try to talk to them about not smoking. Remember that most kids fall into several categories, so take a look at more than one approach. You'll probably find that the best way to talk to your kid is to combine several of these approaches.
